Rugantino RZ is a proven variety in this traditional, old-fashioned tomato style. Known as Ox or Bullock Heart, depending on where you’re from - no matter what you call it, it’s an old-favourite.
Rugantino is a ‘Coeur de Boeuf’ variety, which means it is ribbed. It does not have the pointed end that some oxhearts have – making it easier to pack than some other big, heart-shaped varieties. This meaty, well-flavoured fruit is best suited for slicing fresh.
Rugantino is vigorous and easy setting; it performs well under a wide range of conditions, including unheated greenhouses and outdoor cultivation. Ox hearts are large and fleshy, they require staking.
Average Fruit Weight is 200-240 grams.
