Who are we?
We are Rijk Zwaan Australia (hereinafter "Rijk Zwaan" or "we"). This privacy statement covers all our processing activities and therefore also if we process personal data together with other parties (including an affiliated company abroad). Rijk Zwaan is a controller and responsible for the processing of personal data processed by or on behalf of Rijk Zwaan.In this statement we explain our policy on the processing of personal data. We describe which personal data we process, how we meet privacy principles and data subject rights.This Statement relates to personal data we process as part of business relationships, of business associates and contacts, visitors to Rijk Zwaan, visitors to our website and/or online applications, users of our Rijk Zwaan App, visitors and customers of our online store, vendors and suppliers, job applicants, participants in online and other events, and all other Rijk Zwaan clients and associates.
Rijk Zwaan uses the following types of personal data for the following purposes:
Administration. Managing and processing orders, deliveries and invoices. For accounts payable and accounts receivable management, we record the following personal data relating to our customers and suppliers: name, telephone number, fax number (if applicable), email address, business address, and job titles of contacts.
Customer acceptance process. We have a customer acceptance process in place for the approval of new customers. We may request UBO information, i.e. the name of the ultimate beneficial owner at the companies of our customers and suppliers and the equity interest (expressed in percentages) of the ultimate beneficial owner at the companies of our customers and suppliers. In certain cases, we assess the creditworthiness of our customers, suppliers or other associates, and create a (political) risk and compliance profile (e.g. for countries on which sanctions have been imposed). We can outsource this to an external agency or use online compliance tools at our discretion.
New business development. In order to raise Rijk Zwaan’s profile among customers and potential customers, we use their contact details (i.e. name, telephone number and email address) for sending items such as brochures and leaflets, newsletters, production information, and event invitations.
Images. Rijk Zwaan takes photographs and produces videos of events (including online events) and visits to suppliers/growers, and uses these images with your consent (sometimes including your name, contact details and company name) on our website, in brochures or leaflets, or through other communications such as social media.
Communication. We use your personal contact details (name, address, email-address and/or phone number and your FUNCTION to contact you, for example for questions about a product or service. Furthermore, to inform you about our services and to keep you informed of promotions and offers and to invite you to (online) events. If you have shown interest in our products and services, we use your personal data to send you information about products and services of Rijk Zwaan companies and her affiliated companies. Where possible, we adjust this information in accordance with your preferences.
Marketing/direct marketing. We send marketing emails and advertising/promotional materials and/or information about Rijk Zwaan, possibly based on your preferences. For this purpose, we use your name, email address, and in some cases your profile in our systems. You always have the option to unsubscribe from our newsletters. Provided you have given your consent, Rijk Zwaan may also show you targeted offers or advertising online which are tailored to your preferences and that update and process interactions with Rijk Zwaan. We and/or third parties use these cookies to collect, among other things: all or part of your IP address; which pages you visit; when and how long you use or visit our website; your browsing behaviour on our website and/or in our online store; your interaction with Rijk Zwaan by opening newsletters, registration for/participation in events and/or interaction on social media. We also use this personal data for the development and manufacture of new and existing products and/or services.
Use of applications. You must register for access to Rijk Zwaan applications, including the Rijk Zwaan app, Crops online, and our online store. We will use your name, email address, telephone number, username and password for your account registration and for login and identification purposes.
Marketing analysis and research. We use your contact details to invite you to participate in studies, surveys, and customer and test panels. We also use your contact details for general market research.
Online sales. You must create an account for online sales through our online store. For this purpose, we register your personal data (i.e. name, address, email address, telephone number, username and password) in addition to your business details to create your account and process your order. We also maintain and update your order history.

Technical and statistical purposes In order to assess whether the website and other Rijk Zwaan applications provide an optimum user experience, we may also process personal data. We process your personal data (i.e. your customer account and part of your IP address) for the technical and functional management of the Rijk Zwaan web applications you use. This information allows us to manage and improve the quality of our web applications.
Supervision and security In order to ensure the security of our staff and our customers and visitors, prevent theft and monitor our premises, the Rijk Zwaan sites and car parks are equipped with closed-circuit cameras (surveillance cameras), and we store these images.
Laws & regulations. We process your personal data if we are obliged to do so on the grounds of legislation and regulations, e.g. in case of an alleged infringement of third party (intellectual property) rights.

Does Rijk Zwaan share your personal data with third parties?
Yes, Rijk Zwaan uses third party processors for processing activities, such as hosting, translations and other services. Rijk Zwaan and its affiliated companies operate worldwide and share personal data if this is necessary to provide you with the aforementioned information, products and services. We always do this in a careful manner and for this we take the required organisational, technical and contractual measures to ensure that your personal data is protected. If this is required by law, we will share your personal data with the relevant authorities. Under no circumstances will Rijk Zwaan sell personal data to other parties.
