Coconino RZ is a multi-leaf baby cos (or little gem) lettuce with blistered, glossy plum-red outer leaves and a contrasting buttery-green interior.
Coconino RZ is slow bolting, strong against tip burn, and well suited to warm season production. It is slower filling in winter months. Heads should reach around 150 grams per head at maturity.
It is a versatile variety for both production and market options. It’s suitable for hydroponic, indoor and open-field production, and is well suited for both the twin-pack and loose-leaf market options.
Coconino RZ is part of Rijk Zwaan’s Salanova® range, making salad mix production more efficient with one-cut-ready lettuce varieties. Grow to a full-size head, then harvest individual, baby-sized leaves with a single slice above the core.
