Nicodemus RZ is a midi cos lettuce variety. It has a round base, resulting in nicely shaped cylindrical hearts. The internal leaves are attractively structured, dark outer leaves and buttery bright inner leaves provide good colour contrast.
This is an impressively robust variety, which has demonstrated great results across a broad range of soil types. Nicodemus is a later closing variety that produces uniform heads in a variety of conditions.
It is especially well suited to warm-season production. Great strength against internal tip burn combined with a slow-bolting nature means success even in Australia’s hot summer conditions.
Nicodemus RZ is slightly taller than other varieties in this segment, making it a great contender for the fresh market as well as processing.
Nicodemus has the Knox™ trait; which means cut surfaces oxidise slowly, extending the shelf life, reducing waste, and resulting in a more attractive product on the shelf.
